Good Vs Evil Table Football

Good Vs Evil

A lovingly created table football battle of Good (Gandhi, Assisi, Moore (bobby, not sir henry), Poppins with Claus in goal and God striking) Vs. Evil (Hitler, Jack the Ripper, Macbeth, Vlad the Impaler with the Child Catcher in goal and Lucifer striking).

The table costs a fortune (£14,500) and only 20 will be made, more sculpture than pub-sport…it is being sold by new and exclusive 20ltd, who I am refusing to link to on the grounds that their 100% flash site forces a new window, maximises the screen and plays music. Three strikes and you are out.

[via notcot] - who have thankfully ripped the images from 20ltd’s ghastly site.

Tameshigiri - The Art of Slicing Water Baloon With Samurai Sword

This is a stunning slow motion video of a samurai sword (Nihontou) slicing a water balloon. Tameshigiri actually refers to the Japanese art of target test cutting, although I doubt water balloons are normal targets.

Also see the Samurai Sword slow motion cut through Egg, Tomato, Iced Tea, Onion, Cabbage and an Apple.

Sculptural Paper Anomalies by Jen Stark

Detail of Paper Anomaly by Jen Stark

This is the pheonominal work of Jen Stark, created from cutting and combining coloured paper.

She has also created some wonderful drawings, the level of detail is far beyond what most people would have the patience for.

The Morpho Towers, Ferrofluid Sculpture

Morpho Towers–Two Standing Spirals” is an installation that consists of two ferrofluid sculptures that moves synthetically to music. The two spiral towers stand on a large plate that hold ferrofluid. When the music starts, the magnetic field around the tower is strengthened. Spikes of ferrofluid are born from the bottom plate and move up, trembling and rotating around the edge of the iron spiral.

Wow!

The Pixelated Tie

The 8-bit pixelated tie

Great story behind this one…ThinkGeek is well-known for it’s april fools products, last year was the wireless power adaptor this year was the 8-bit tie.

In fact, so many people thought this was a great idea (and well within the realms of possibility) that they actually have decided to produce it.
