umm…wow!
Imagine Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells set to an animation like this…that would be truly amazing. There are some other parts of the Animusic on youtube, but since this is actually a dvd for sale don’t expect them to be online too long.

So this is what American university students do when they are not ripping off music…

A huge typographic map of London…basically the London A-Z in one large poster without the lines, although I am sure the designers would argue that it is a little more complicated than that.

Norwegian artist, Christopher Conte combines fine arts with prosthetics to create these wonderful and somewhat disturbing bio-industrial sculptures.

They probably aren’t too comfortable to wear, but Nike has put together a pair of Transformers (Megatron and Optimus Prime) which for some reason transform into trainers.
Highly collectable, ultra pointless!

Well, Hitachi managed to raise the bar…they are just about to release a 1Tb hard disk. I thought I would do some playing with the figures to put it into perspective.
1Tb = 1024Gb = 1,048,576Mb
= 455,902 three megapixel photos
= 9, 532 high bitrate albums in mp3
= 745,654 double density floppy disks, a stack about 250m high.
or for the more old-school among you…
= about 354,681 copies of War and Peace
…doesn’t seem that big really.

We are summoning forth the proletariat around the globe to aid us in this revolution. We call on the common man to rise up in revolt against this evil of typographical ignorance. We believe in the gospel message “ban comic sans.” It shall be salvation to all who are literate. By banding together to eradicate this font from the face of the earth we strive to ensure that future generations will be liberated from this epidemic and never suffer this scourge that is the plague of our time.
Now that’s a campaign I can support!

A creative mix of debauched hand-drawn typography, mixed with slightly dodgy hand-drawn imagery all on a colourful, classical background. The personal artwork of Fidor Sumkin.

This is a hilarious commentary to the impossibly difficult original Super Mario Bros 2. The game was actually not released because of the extreme frustration which it clearly causes.
You have to play this with the sound on, which I rarely do…but I wouldn’t suggest playing it in an office or public area as the play does get a little colourful with the language (as any normal person would under these circumstances).

Following a similar theme to the tiny street art project, these are some interesting little people photographs by Akiko Ida and Pierre Javelle.
As is so common with creative-types websites, this is another flash abomination and is slow and clumsy to use. Still worth a look though.
They certainly have the moves…(although not the stability). I think the genre of stop-motion break dancing could be explored more thoroughly, there is quite a bit of potential there.

This site has many really good examples of top quality flame fractals unfortunately only available at low resolution. The artist is Stacey Waley who also sells them as prints.
