My a-level computing teacher once said to me “everything comes full circle”, he was referring to trends in computing at the time but I beleive it is significatly more widespread than that.
The person who put this together also did, except they actually went out to prove it. This huge, zoomable flash image is a very nice graphical representation of trends (such as technology, social, political etc.) between 1750 and 2006, he extends it to predict based on current trends until 2100.
I found it really interesting…but I do often wonder if I am a bit of a stats-nerd. Google analytics still has the ability to eat up half-an-hour of coffee drinking time.
