Much as i tried to format the ascii text generated by this cool tool, it just simply wouldn’t work on the blog…shame
Anyway, this tool allows you to type in text and have it come out in one of about 30 funky ascii fonts…

This is a pretty neat idea, a plant in a keyring…they would even be cool after they had died, although not quite as much.

Some stunning photography of smoke using coloured lights…shame they aren’t bigger, they would make a fantastic osx screensaver.

Ok, this will be the last photoblog for a while…I have been posting quite a few of them recently. But I did think this one was worth special mention, as it does have some of the best photography I have seen.

Wow…I never knew Moscow had such stunning metro stations. This is a map-based gallery of the stations in the centre of the city.
This actually gives me the idea to do the same for London tube stations, although i doubt it would be quite as picturesque. Still useful to get to know them though…

Some great space images shot with the hubble telescope, all at desktop resolutions (1280×1024 max, sorry big screen people). Unfortunately they do have a a nasty blob of text with the name/url on, but this can be photoshopped out

A gallery of the worst album covers to ever be photographed…there are some real classics in here, including this slightly disturbing one at number 3.

A hilarious collection of images of the crazy stuff people do to get things done…

This one has the unique quality of having very detailed tutorials every-so-often, including night shooting, equipment and depth of field…
As well as a bunch of very nice images

A collection of very useful tools for choosing colour schemes, blending colours etc. These are especially useful for those of us who are graphically challenged and have trouble picking matching colours for webpages.

A couple of interesting space discoveries, showing us that in fact we don’t really know very much about the universe at all…but i guess we knew that already, well most of us…

This is a 'rock' found by opportunity on mars, the curious thing is that it is made of metal…probably piece of the landing gear which got deformed on entry. Imagine if it were a hunk of gold, it would certainly guarantee investment in the space program for a while…

This one is of the newly photographed moon of saturn 'Iapetus' with its 8mile high mountain belt around the equator. Looks kinda like one of those molded plastic kiddie toys…
Bittorrent, meta-torrents, eXeem and Podcasting are all covered by this very good article. The writer really makes no bones about not knowing the subject from the inside, like most techies. This gives him a unique perspective to research and discover what really makes these filesharing techniques so popular, and what their downsides are…
The index that facilitates the sharing of files on a large scale is also the Achilles heel of peer-to-peer file-sharing, because it is vulnerable to litigation and closure. So what happens if the index is itself distributed? I try to get my head around the latest in peer-to-peer file sharing, and explain a bit about what I've learned, including the fact that BitTorrent's power rests in its 'swarm' distribution model, but not necessarily in your end-user download speed. What has this got to do with podcasting? (Answer: invisible P2P plumbing helps the podcasting wheel go round).
Watch out, it is pretty long…but worth it, especially for someone who hasnt really used any of these techniques before.

A cool gallery of images with one of the people replaced with a line drawing. Pretty simple idea, but very effective…reminds me of the classic duran duran music video.

Some cool illustrations on dollar bills…I think in england you can be thrown in the tower for this…
