Lethal Memory Leaking

Isn’t it good to know that when you are next flying over California, that everyone of the planes in the airspace around, above and below you are getting their information from off-the-shelf pc's running windows 2000 advanced server.

Amazingly enough they switched from a stable unix system to one which has to be rebooted every 30 days due to memory leaks in the poorly written software.

Even more scary than this is that 'because of inexperienced trainee staff' the system got to its 49.7 day cutoff and crashed, leaving 800 planes flying around trying to avoid each other.
